Bentonville Film Festival Los Angeles, CA
Position: Vice President, Business Affairs
The Bentonville Film Festival was founded by Academy Award Winner Geena Davis and Hollywood Exec Trevor Drinkwater to champion diverse voices in media.  It guarantees distribution to the winners.  Sponsors include Walmart, Coca-Cola, espnW, and AMC.  Duties include:  Negotiation of the following types of agreements:  sponsorship, marketing, location, vendor, service, independent contractor, employee, music acts, music licensing, etc.  I also handle corporate work in the LLC and nonprofit foundation (meeting minutes, corporate resolutions, operating agreement, bylaws, state filings).  I facilitate the distribution agreements between filmmakers and studio sponsors and I provide support to the Programming Department, Marketing Department, Operations Department, and Finance Department.

Position: Director, Business & Legal Affairs
Our Alchemy (formerly Millennium) was the largest independent distributor of film & television.  It was also the manager of the Bentonville Film Festival, LLC.  Duties include: For the Distribution Side: Negotiate, redline, draft acquisition agreements; Attend company finance meetings regarding acquisitions; Work closely with the marketing department to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and restrictions; Use of FilmTrack software for rights tracking.  For the film festival side: See info under Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) above.  Reason for leaving: Alchemy filed for Ch. 7 Bankruptcy.
RLJ Entertainment Los Angeles, CA
Position: Director, Business & Legal Affairs
RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) is an independent distributor of content in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.  Duties include: Negotiate, redline, draft the following types of agreements: distribution acquisition, sublicense, development, production, finance, interparty agreements / notice of assignments / bonded productions, music licensing.  Review legal deliverables: chain of title, music, production agreements, E&O, clearance issues.  Work closely with the marketing department to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and restrictions.  Use of FilmTrack software for rights tracking.  Work with Finance Department on acquisition analysis, budgets, and payment timelines, and attended the greenlight meetings.  Reason for leaving:  Received an opportunity to move to a larger company and closer to my home.

Ethos Pictures was named after the Greek word meaning “character”, which is used to describe the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology.   Ethos Pictures focuses on character driven productions and on productions that analyze how relationships between characters mime society and society’s ideas about humanity.  Duties include: Developing, producing, marketing, selling productions.  Hiring of cast and crew, working with unions and guilds, budgets, cost reports, option and purchase agreements, production contracts, financing contracts, deliverables.

Position: Teaching Assistant
Duties include: TA for four semesters for two Professional Programs: the Producing Program and the Television Showrunner Series.  Coordination of instructors and students; assist instructors, such as Adam Fogelson (former Chairman of Universal Studios), Billy Ray (writer, “The Hunger Games”), Joe Rosenberg (former CAA agent), and Paul Green (President, Anonymous Content).  Reason for leaving:  This was a temporary part time job.

Duties include: Heavy script coverage, script notes, answering phones, coordinating the schedules of the creative executives.  Worked at the company during the time of the release of “Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows” and “Project X”, post-production of “Bullet in the Head”, and development of “Non-Stop”.  Reason for leaving: This was a temporary six month internship.

Duties include: contract review, business structures (operating agreements, meeting resolutions, etc), promissory notes, oversee hedge funds, maintaining compliance with securities laws, property development (purchase and sale contracts, subcontractor lien waivers), human resources (discrimination and harassment policies), oversee litigation contracted to outside attorneys, vendor contract negotiation, etc.

Position:  Founder and Artistic Director
APASI is a nonprofit with a mission to promote Asian American artsits and/or stories about Asian Americans.  We produced plays, short films, and events.  Duties include:  I was in charge of heading the mission and goals of the organization, the corporate documents, fundraising and grant proposals.  I also headed the operations of each project and event.  Reason for leaving:  Moved to Los Angeles.
